Hope everyone has had a healthy and productive year. Winter can bring added solitude to excursions to the river. Enjoy this vignette of winter fly fishing and hug your loved ones real tight : )snow fish
Debate this amongst yourselves!
Agree or disagree with this ranking? But before you get too upset ask if you want your favorite fishery to get any more press 😉

New project from Western Pictures
WE OUT HERE is intent on bringing faces of color to the fly fishing and recreation space.
Full film drop! We were able to showcase this film as part of our 2020 lineup of films. Great work!
keep doing what ya’ll are doing
It's been awhile! But we are still here. Hope you are too. Hugging smiley face emoji.
Fish it well. This is good. This feels right. Let’s reconnect to the blog with this anthem. 2021 is here and things are happening.
Every trip’s GOT one.
Any sort of expedition with friends to any sort of fly fishing destination sounds like good medicine right about now. But until things go back to normal, and they will, continue to stay safe and live vicariously through content provided by folks that fish. We dig Rolf’s stuff and he has been a part of our tour in years past. Happy uh, weekend, or whatever we call it now…
TRAPPED from Tightloops
Things don’t always go as planned. If that ain’t appropriate these days I do not know what is. This husband and wife filmmaking duo have been a part of the film festival multiple times and we have collaborated on projects. Needless to say they are awesome—please enjoy this film and our revitalization of the blog because I know we are all really really really bored.
Watch This
If memory serves, we played this film 7 seven 7 years ago at the incipient MTFFF at the old Crystal Theatre in Missoula, MT…now a brewery. Watch this film ok? And breathe a bit, eh?
TROUT is ALL
I remember how seeing this little diddy changed how I saw fishing films, and what they could be. Also: trout. Enjoy the weekend :)
Another edition of: Sunday Scary damage control
We rolled this awesome vignette a few years back as part of the tour and I still enjoy it quite a bit. We keep the pretension low and the authenticity turnt up. Enjoy On Sundays from Ian McMullen.
Welcome to the new DECADE...
Before we ring in the New Year, let’s take a look back at this edit filmed roughly a decade ago, for some good old trout fishing amongst friends. Those were surely the days. . . marked by the singular, simple, uncompromising motivation of: fly fishing as much as humanly possible. Cheers.
Simple is Better
When did we stop respecting the fish in our own backyards? When did far-flung destinations that none of us can actually afford become our wallpaper? We are over it. #fishlocal and the more we care about our homespun resources the more we are likely to take care of them. Check out this edit for some backyard angling.
Oldie but a Goodie. Also…tomorrow is Christmas Eve?!
It’s true, Santa is wheels up in a little over 24 hrs. Hope all of you were good, or at least good at it. ‘Tis trout spey season in the mountains so enjoy this inland steelhead flick.
Episode 2 drrrrrrops!
The Second Installment is here from the good dudes over at Wild Fly. Enjoy this rootin’ tootin’ time and happy weekend ya’ll.
GONE ASTRAIÉ
These French Canadians are pretty darn rad. We have screened a few of their films over the years as part of the film fest traveling road show. Crack a beer, maybe a session ale of sorts, its a school night, and enjoy this edit. The week is downhill from here!
Northern Natives online release
You know the drill. Its Sunday, that’s scary, and here’s a little gift of fly fishing video to ease your reintegration process…Sunday Scaries be damned!
A Late Hatch
Could go for any sort of hatch right about now. Enjoy the weekend!
BIG FOOT/hump day or "Harry and the Hendricksons”
IF you swing flies for coastal Steelhead in the lower 48 or you have ever hunted the one, big, brown trout all fall; throwing big ol’ streamers no matter what, even in the face of your compadres giggling as they set the hook on the umpteenth nice-but-not-what-you’re-looking-for fish then you get it. Like Big Foot, you gotta believe, and that is usually built on some previous occasions for hope.
SUNDAY SCARies
It may be Sunday evening but go on…live a little, Montana style. Follow some fun dudes being fun in a fun place and fight the scaries complements of Big Sky Country.
It's the friggggin weekend people!
Maybe you are heading up into the mountains for early turns or heading out to mostly still flowing rivers and streams to scrape one last trout mission together. Either way, enjoy this group of friends *legally targeting Bull Trout way up “North”. Their fishy Southern cousins are protected in Montana under the threatened species designation. Look for this full episode online in the coming weeks through various outlets.
