STEP ONE:
want to host the Montana fishing film fest in your backyard? it’s easy! contact us at your convenience and expect a licensing fee of 1k per show, $750 for non-profits.
for filmmakers: Come up with an idea, a concept, a goal for your film. It should have a clear story arc, be dynamic to watch, and exemplify your home fishery in some way.
STEP TWO:
Get out and film! This takes some planning and we get that, so concepts are also accepted in the right circumstances, but ideally we want some footage before building the tour around a piece. Whether an overnight, weeklong, or filmed over the course of a season, get all the best shots compiled.
SteP Three:
There are a few ways to share. But spend some time in the editing booth and start to really craft the story. We require at least a rough cut before making a decision on a piece. Contact mtfishingfilmfest@gmail.com with "submission" in the subject line. We will need a dropbox share which we can initiate, or a private share on vimeo or other movie host. There are some gear or CASH awards for filmmakers. submissions are open for the 2023 Montana fishing film festival!
